RG: What is considered innovation today?

AM: Innovation, today, is pushing the limits of what is possible, and with technology that is constantly advancing, this is exciting for us to be a part of.

Innovation is at the forefront of what we do here at ANKA Metals – we are constantly pushing ourselves to come up with exciting new finishes and designs which we believe to be a key to success in the ever changing world of design.

RG: A unique and original aspect that characterises Anka Metal?

AM: The whole premise of ANKA is originality and this is what we’ve built our brand around over the last 15 years.

We take pride in the fact that there are very few people in the world capable of doing what we do, and even less people capable of achieving the quality we achieve.

A philosophy has remained with us over the years, and that is ‘never say no’. This is not just a testament to our willingness to take on a challenge, it’s also a testament to the endless possibilities of our product.

RG: What do you think of when you hear the word design?

AM: Freedom. The beauty of design is that you have the freedom to create absolutely anything, and there is no right or wrong. We have an extremely talented team of artisans in our workshop, and we like to give them the freedom to experiment and create new finishes.

RG: Your main inspirations. Where do they come from?

AM: Our finishes & designs are so versatile that it becomes impossible to narrow it down.

Our projects range from residential and commercial, to aviation and super-yacht projects. We draw our inspirations from anything – whether it be natural, or something more industrial and man-made.

Our goal is to use our inspiration in conjunction with the designers inspiration, to help realise their designs.

RG: How important is craftsmanship for Anka Metal?

AM: Given the nature of the industry we work in, our craftsmanship and acute attention to detail is of paramount importance.

In our bespoke furniture division, our experienced cabinet makers are precise and meticulous in their approach – we will never let a piece leave our workshop unless it is perfect.

We adopt the same mantra when it comes to producing specialist finishes. This is what allows us to pride ourselves on impeccable quality.
